THE MAN FOUND STRENGTH
Sometimes we don’t realize it, but this pandemic affected us all one way or another. Unconsciously, our stress levels and emotions were altered and even if the virus did not reach our home, tension rose because of the news, social distancing, not being able to go to church, not being able to physically socialize, etc. If we don’t take care of ourselves, all of this begins to affect us and many people sometimes lose their composure. This is because when there is pain in the heart, anything can turn into violence and end up affecting the homes.
There was a person named David who was going through something similar. He, along with 600 men, returned to their homes and when they arrived, their homes had been burned down and they had taken their families.
These 600 men, because of their pain, began to act in an uncalled for way. They were bitter because they lost something and wanted to stone David. When we lose something, whether it be a job, routine, loved one, family member, friend, etc., something happens to us.
Do you know when people are bitter out on the street? That is why everything they have turns into violence. They lose their senses, they verbally hit each other and begin to speak about race, etc because when us human beings are hurt, we hurt each other.
Where do we strengthen ourselves? Where do we find strength in these situations? What did David do?
Think about it:
How has this time of crisis affected you?
Had you felt a loss of strength?
Have you sought for strength in God?
