GET UP AND EAT
Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”. (1 Kings 19:1-4 NLT)
Prophet Elijah was going through a time of crisis and began to make bad decisions and made several mistakes, from which we must learn for now that we are in this difficult time:
1.- He isolated himself. We shouldn’t isolate ourselves, but instead stay connected in the Houses of Peace and in online Sunday services. People get tired and don’t want to know anything about church, work, school, or anything. It’s a huge mistake to isolate yourself in these times of crisis.
2.- Elijah sat down. He became inactive. Don’t become inactive. The first thing is that they sit down and then they fall asleep. “He who hasn’t taught lately hasn’t grown up lately.”
3.- Elijah wanted to die. People who isolate themselves become inactive because we aren’t coming to the temple, but there is more need than ever at this time. If you stay seated you will become depressed, you will lose your vision, you will see only the negativity of the news instead of listening to the good news that the Word of God is telling us. Is there a reality? Yes, but there is a truth that is higher than reality.
4.- Elijah began to compare himself and lowered his self-esteem. … “Take my life, because I’m no better than” … Some are already isolating themselves and have sat down, they have become blind and are falling asleep, they are losing the vision and purpose of God in their life.
5.- Elijah laid down and fell asleep. Some of your worry is putting you to sleep.
But something happened with Elijah, and while he was sleeping an angel told him to “get up and eat.”
To be continued….
Think about it:
Have you isolated yourself or are you still connected with the services and online HOPs?
Have you become inactive? What are you doing to keep growing?
Have you let worry put you to sleep or are you still in God’s purpose?
