Why?

WHY?

…They will ask, ‘Why did the Lord do such terrible thingsto this land and to this Temple?’”. (2 Chronicles 7:21-22 NLT)

Something that worries me during these four months of pandemic, is that society doesn’t seem to understand something that’s key: We need to return to God!

People ignore God and don’t seem to understand the importance of humbling their hearts and turning to God. And we wonder why this plague is taking so long?

»and the answer will be:

“And the answer will be, ‘Because his people abandoned the LORD, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and they worshiped other gods instead and bowed down to them. That is why he has brought all these disasters on them.’” (2 Chronicles 7:22 NLT)

People just want to go back to their old ways of life. They don’t think of serving or living for God. They are anxious to idolize love for money, fame, power, sex, entertainment, sports, racing, business, etc. Many of these things are good, but they shouldn’t take God’s place.

Solution: Four things that humans should do and three things that God will do:

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Think about it:

Why do you want everything to go back to normal?
Have you asked God what you need to change?
Are you seeking God more in these times through prayer and reading the Bible?
