Stubborn heart

STUBBORN HEART

And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, (Ezekiel 11:19 NLT)

A stone heart by nature inclines towards the temporary things, to the desires of the eyes, to the desires of the flesh and the vanity of this life. (1 John 2:16-17)

I would like to say that it’s easy to maintain a tender, sensitive, and people-loving heart, but the truth is that we ourselves don’t know the depths of our hearts. The Bible says that the heart is deceitful above all things. (Jer. 17:9-10)

Sometimes we try to do good things, but in reality, our motivations are inadequate because we have insecurities, fears, resentments, wounds in our hearts, etc.
Let’s reflect on this.

And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, (Ezekiel 11:19 NLT)

Think about it:

Where does your heart lean toward? Towards temporary things or eternal things?
Is your heart tender or has it hardened?
Have you asked God to search your heart?
