The grief

THE GRIEF

I will turn their mourning into joy.
I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing. (Jeremiah 31:13 NLT)

Grief is a difficult process that people go through when there is a loss of any kind (loved one, health, job, divorce, finances, etc.) Something changes in their personal world and they need a readjustment to a new lifestyle.

The person goes through a grieving process that sometimes doesn’t seem to end, it seems that the suffering will last forever, but the Word of the Lord assures us of several things.

1.- The sufferings of the present don’t compare to the future glory.

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. (Romans 8:18 NLT)

2.- One day there will be no more pain or grief.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a] 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”». (Rev. 21:4 NLT)

We live in a fallen world and sin has affected all things, health, economy, etc. But one day we will no longer be subject to the consequences of that sin, there will be no more pain, no death or disease, no more orphans, no elderly or abused women, no more unjust laws.

I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing.(Jeremiah 31:13 NLT)

Think about it:

Have you passed through the ground due to some loss?
How has God helped you through those difficult times?
What does knowing these promises of God produce in you?
