ONCE AGAIN – PART II
About this time another large crowd had gathered, and the people ran out of food again. Jesus called his disciples and told them, 2 “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. 3 If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance. (Mark 8:1-3 NLT)
Yesterday we learned how Jesus found himself one again before a crowd that ran out of food, and once again He felt sorry for them and fed them.
This was key: “They have been here with me.” They had been a long time, three days with Jesus. The pandemic has been long, but it’s one thing to spend a pandemic disconnected from God and another thing to spend a pandemic connected to God. These are difficult times but we must be connected to God, connected to his church, connected to the family of God, connected to the Houses of Peace.
Some have had problems and have been dealing with difficulties for a long time, but have stayed connected to God.
“Hungry” God will never leave us hungry. When He heard that the crowds were hungry He said I’m going to do something about it. This world is hungry right now. There is a spiritual, emotional, family, and physical hunger.
People get depressed and suicidal not out of physical hunger, but out of spiritual and emotional hunger. In this pandemic, Eagles CFC has been a different voice. We have told the world that Jesus is the hope of this world, that Jesus is the only one who can satisfy the hunger of the heart and soul that exists in every human being; It’s not fame, not power, not money, not sex, not drugs, not alcohol. Jesus is the answer of this world!
…Jesus called his disciples and told them, 2 “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. 3 If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance.(Mark 8:1-3 NLT)
Think about it:
Are you going to go through this pandemic hungry, depressed and bitter or are you going to go through it with the peace and joy that only our Lord can give us?
Have you spent this pandemic connected or disconnected with God?
Have you kept yourself hungry for God?
