How to recover when I feel overwhelmed? II

HOW TO RECOVER WHEN I FEEL OVERWHELMED? II

Please listen and answer me, for I am overwhelmed by my troubles. (Psalms 55:2 NLT)

We have all become overwhelmed at some point. How do we recover when we feel overwhelmed? Besides practicing the habits of the successful disciple (Praying, reading the Bible, writing what God speaks to you, congregating, serving and being generous), what practical things can help us?

How to recover when overwhelmed:

1.- Don’t compare yourself to others
. You have a unique purpose in life. Don’t run at the same pace as others. Don’t be overwhelmed by comparing yourself to your neighbor. Avoid comparison. Find yourself. Why did God bring you to this world? What is God’s purpose for your life? You are important to God and He has a great plan and purpose for your life.

2.- Evaluate your calendar. Revise it. How are you using your time? Sometimes we get overwhelmed because we want to do everything. Are you making time for the Lord and resting in Him? Are you making time for the four priorities? Are you praying, reading the Bible, etc.? Are you making time to recreate yourself? Are you doing something healthy that brings you joy? If you aren’t putting on your calendar to do something that makes you happy sooner or later, you are going to burn out, you will complain about life. You need to have fun in a healthy way.

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.He will not permit the godly to slip and fall..(Psalms 55:22 NLT)
To be continued….

Think about it:

What is God’s purpose for your life?
How do you organize your life?
Do you make sure to include time for God, for your family, for your purpose and for you?
