VALUE PEOPLE
For even his brothers didn’t believe in him. (John 7:5 NLT)
How sad that Jesus was not yet valued by his family and his friends.
This leads me to think of several things:
- We all need to feel affirmed from time to time.
- We are all blessed to receive recognition for what we do well from time to time.
- It is better that there is an over-affirmation than missing recognition.
- No one has ever died of over-affirmation and recognition, but many dreams, careers, marriages, and ministries have died from the wounds of criticism and lack of appreciation.
- There will always be some that value you and others that do not, but what matters is what God thinks of you.
There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some argued, “He’s a good man,” but others said, “He’s nothing but a fraud who deceives the people.” (John 7:12 NLT)
Think about it:
What causes you to feel valued?
How do you make those close to you feel valued?
What makes you feel how important and valuable you are to God?
