The desire of any pastor

THE DESIRE OF ANY PASTOR

My desire is for the people in our church to have a relationship with God beyond only what I teach on Sundays.

I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts.I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already. (Hebrews8:10-11 NTV)

“Knowing” means having intimacy with someone.

1.- I look forward to people having intimacy with God beyond a Sunday service in the church. All week and anywhere.

2.- I want to become “unnecessary” and for people:

How can this be possible? It is not achieved with motivational oratory. The word of God needs to transform our minds and hearts.

I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts.I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already. (Hebrews 8:10-11 NTV)

Human motivation is superficial, but the word of God is penetrating and transforming.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.(Heb 4:12NLT)

Think about it:

Are you looking for God in intimacy every day?
Have you let the Word of God transform your mind and heart?
What do you need to start practicing? Praying, reading the Bible, writing your devotional, gather, serve, etc.?
