Sometimes God surrounds me

SOMETIMES GOD SURROUNDS ME
BUT OTHER TIMES I NEED FRIENDS TO SURROUND ME.

… But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.. (Acts 14:20 NLT)

Everyone at some point in our life has felt stoned by the problems or difficult circumstances that we go through, and we need to be surrounded to move forward.

There will be times when the glory of God will protect us from being stoned, just as it happened in the case of Stephen when he was being stoned. God himself filled him with his peace by allowing him to see His glory and Jesus.

…But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand. (Acts 7:55 NLT)

But other times, we will need the people who love us to be the ones around us when we feel stoned by life in order to get up, as in the case of the apostle Paul.

...They stoned Paul and dragged him out of town, thinking he was dead. 20 But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe. (Acts 14:19-20 NLT)

Think about it:

How has it helped you when in the midst of problems you feel the presence of God in your life?
What have you felt when you’ve been stoned but those who love you surround you with love, prayer and care?
Who do you know who may need you to surround them?
