My peace depends on who my trust is in

MY PEACE DEPENDS ON WHO MY TRUST IS IN

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4:8 NKJV)

My peace during the day depends on who I put my trust in the morning.
My peace at night depends on who I trust when I go to bed.
If my confidence is in my stock market investments going up and down, maybe I’ll wake up worried overnight.
But if my trust is in the source, that is, in God, then I will sleep peacefully because I know that everything else is only the means of blessing, but God is the source, and he will take care of me and my house.
If I go to bed basing my self-esteem on people, I will most likely be worried because I will never look good to everyone. People may one day love you and be with you, and the next day abandon you.
But if I go to bed remembering that God’s love is unconditional and that I don’t need to do anything to be accepted and loved, then most likely I will lie down saying:

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;

For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4:8 NKJV)

And when I get up I will also say:

I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.. (Psalm 3:5 NKJV)

Think about it:
Who do you give your trust to everyday?
What has stolen your peace?
Who is the source of your provision?
