Rock of escape

ROCK OF ESCAPE

 Saul and David were now on opposite sides of a mountain. Just as Saul and his men began to close in on David and his men, an urgent message reached Saul that the Philistines were raiding Israel again. So Saul quit chasing David and returned to fight the Philistines. Ever since that time, the place where David was camped has been called the Rock of Escape. (1 Samuel 23:26-28 NLT)

It doesn’t matter how many enemies you have, when God is on your side He will use anything to distract your enemy.

1. David seemed to be trapped by Saul who wanted to kill him.
Perhaps you feel like you’re in a similar position as David. But look what God did to keep his enemies from touching him.

2. God brought news to Saul that distracts him from David’s escape.
Many of your enemies have been distracted by God and never came to you. Others will be distracted by God in the future and will not come to you. (Isaiah. 54:17)

3. You will remember certain places and people that God used as your rock of escape. Jesus is that rock!

Have you felt like David, trapped by your enemies?
In what situations have you seen that God has delivered you from your enemies?
How do He save you from them?
