Power, spirit, justice

POWER, SPIRIT, JUSTICE

But as for me, I am filled with power— with the Spirit of the Lord. I am filled with justice and strength… (Micah 3:8 NLT)

There are many words that catch my attention in this passage: Power, spirit, justice, and strength.

I find some relation between these words.

1. Power.
I am full of power. But what kind of power is he speaking about? It’s not political power, or the power of a firearm, or the power of a position of authority like a police officer, governor, or a manager; rather it’s a power that comes from the Spirit of God.

2. I am full of the Spirit of the Lord.
It reminds me of Acts 1:8 where it says “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…”

3. Justice.
Living in righteousness and justice enables us to be filled with the power and authority that comes from God.
We can’t be unjust, thieves, extortionists, and at the same time be carriers of the Glory of God.

I dress in the armor of God!
I declare that the truth protects my integrity, justice protects my reputation, the gospel guides all my steps, faith guarantees my future and my destiny; and the sword of the Spirit gives me power and authority in the name of Jesus.

But as for me, I am filled with power
with the Spirit of the Lord. I am filled with justice and strength to boldly declare Israel’s sin and rebellion. (Micah 3:8 NLT)

Think about it:

Are you filled with the Holy Spirit?
Are you using the power that God has given you through his Holy Spirit?
Are you leading a righteous life that pleases God?
