Stop at the crossroads – Part 2

STOP AT THE CROSSROADS
Part 2

This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ (Jeremiah 6:16 NLT)

2. Look Around.
“Stop at the crossroads and look around. (Jeremiah 6:16 NLT)

This talks to us about evaluating where we are, and where we are headed. What are we doing now and what are we supposed to be doing?
This talks to us about evaluating other available options.

For example, when someone is completely absorbed in their job, working overtime, six or seven days, with little sleep, etc. This person will not be able to see other opportunities for a better job with better pay and better benefits, and much less think about opening up their own business. They will always work for someone else because they have not stopped and “looked around” for other available options.

This talks to us about evaluating our relationship with God. How was my spiritual life pre-pandemic and how is it now? How did I pray, read, serve, was I generous?

3. To be continued…

This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ (Jeremiah 6:16 NLT)

Think about it:

What are you supposed to be doing and haven’t?
How was your spiritual life pre-pandemic and how is it now? Has it gotten better or worse?
