Worn out trying to hold it in

WORN OUT TRYING TO HOLD IT IN

But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it! (Jeremiah 20:9 NLT)

Sometimes we have served God with great joy in our hearts, but other times we have felt like not doing it.

Sometimes life hits us, problems come, crises shake our lives, and on these occasions we can feel like we don’t want to know anything about the ministry, nothing about the problems of the people, and sometimes even nothing about the church or even about God.

But the truth is that there is a fire inside us that burns, and we won’t be happy if we don’t fulfill God’s purpose while passing through this world.

Jeremiah tried to throw a tantrum and say, “I’m not going to preach or talk about God anymore,” but that made him feel exhausted.
When we try to ignore our mission, then we use a lot of angry forces and energy trying to contain the impulse of the Holy Spirit in our heart, we become exhausted and unhappy.

… his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it! (Jeremiah 20:9 NLT)

But when we function according to God’s original plan and purpose for us, then life is motivating, exciting, we are passionate, we draw strength like a buffalo, we feel like we are flying like eagles, etc.

Lord, make my will work in perfect harmony with yours.

But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it! (Jeremiah 20:9 NLT)

Think about it:
Has what happened to Jeremiah happened to you?
Are you fulfilling God’s purpose in your life, or have you ignored it?
Do you think doing your will or doing God’s will brings more satisfaction?
