As for me

AS FOR ME

1. But as for me I will come near God.

But (as for me), how good it is to be near God!  I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do. (Psalms 73:28)

Who else can I go to in this world that is as trustworthy as God?
Friends can be there for a time, but in another time they are no longer there.
When a family member dies, in the first week many will call you, or they will write their condolences on Facebook, but two months afterwards the calls and visits begin to cease. Everyone continues on with their own life.
How can you keep yourself encouraged?

2. As for me, I will call upon God.

As for me, I will call upon God,

And the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon
I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice….For there were many against me…..God will hear, and afflict them…Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalms 55:16-19-22)

3. As for me, I will sing.
David would write songs that we know as Psalms and he would take courage in God.

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. (Psalms 59:16 NLT)

Think about it:
How do you keep yourself encouraged in difficult times?
As for you, what do you need to begin from these three points in order to keep yourself encouraged and trusting in God?
Why do you think it’s important to get closer to God?
What have you cried out to God for?
