CAST YOUR BREAD ON THE WATER
Ecclesiastes 11:1 NKJV
Bread comes from the seeds.
This verse talks to me to sow now so that there will be harvest in the future.
In ancient times people moved frequently. They would settle their tribe wherever they found water and food to survive, but eventually the resources would run out and they would move once more.
This passage gives us the idea of throwing the grain (example: wheat) over the water of a river where the current goes downstream.
Part of the seeds that they would throw would stay stuck on the edges of the river and months later grow.
When the food would run out where they would be settled, the village would move to another region with a downstream river.
What would they find? Food. The grain that they had thrown over the waters of the river some time ago now has produced plants that have abundant harvest now. When they would settle there was food for their families.

Think about it:
What type of seed have you sowed in the past?
What seed are you sowing now?
What have you harvested recently?
