WISDOM AND DISCRETION IN THE FACE OF DANGER
Part 2
Daniel acted out with wisdom and discretion when he was informed of the danger of death. Let’s see how Daniel faced difficulty.
1.His emotions were not out of control. He wasn’t a person who was led by emotions that made things worse with his reactions and uncontrolled emotions. He didn’t cry or explode in anger.
2. He listened carefully. He listened more than he spoke and paid attention to details. He didn’t interrupt and respond until he understood the situation.
3. Asked for time (time out). He asked for time to process the problem.
4. He Prayed. He knew that the solution to the problem would come from God. He asked for time to pray and gathered three friends to join him in that prayer.
He understood that he needed divine wisdom, not human wisdom in order to speak to the king.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (James 1:5)
5. Exercise Faith.
Think about it:
Do you take some time to process things, or do you react abruptly?
Do you come to God first in prayer when you are faced with difficulties, or do you seek for human help?
Do you maintain your self in faith, or do you lose hope easily?
