THE LEADER AND THE “FOG” (FEAR OF GOD)
1.- The leader must live in the “fear of God” since they are not exempt from sin.
(Hebrews 5:3 NLT)
2- The leader must keep his feet on the ground and remember that he is still human, that he still has weaknesses, and be understanding of others.
3.- The leader must be alert and not lose the Fear of God.
The fear of God is not universal fear, it’s not personal fear, or phobias, it’s not diabolical fear.
FOG is a reverent fear.
FOG is the highest level of respect for the person of God, based on reverence and holy awe.
It’s based on amazement, reverence, holy fright, admiration, respect, worship, stupefied, speechless, amazed, surrendered, homage, honor.
As leaders we must continue to be vigilant of our hearts and our conduct, because when we get too confident we are at greater risk of making mistakes.
What have I let into my heart that I am beginning to tolerate? Resentment, unforgiveness, impure thoughts, negativity, etc.? I must be radical and remove it immediately! I must not allow it to become a nest.
The high priest in the Bible asked forgiveness for the sins of the people, but also for his own.
(Hebrews 5:3 NLT)
Think about it
Have you remained alert in order to stay in the fear of God?
What weaknesses do you struggle with?
What sins have you begun to tolerate that you need to repent of?
