IF DAVID COMPLAINED…
O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
(Psalms 64:1 NLT)
(Psalms 64:1 NLT)
If King David, the man according to God’s heart, complained, that helps me not feel too bad when sometimes I want to complain due to problems in life.
O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
(Psalms 64:1 NLT)
(Psalms 64:1 NLT)
It’s natural that human beings sometimes feel frustrated, even mad in front of the continuous challenges of this world.
We feel like complaining when:
- When we see unjust acts.
- When we are disrespected at work or at a store
- When we are taken advantage of by a mechanic, plumber, electrician etc.
- When we feel powerless in the face of the corruption of political systems,
- Financial and even religious.
- When we see so much poverty and inequality in the world.
- When we see countries where the leaders abuse people.
- When we realize that a child was abused in school or even at home.
- When we are criticized and false things are said about us because we did something good.
We can complain once in a while to God, but we should not leave our purpose.
O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
(Psalms 64:1 NLT)
(Psalms 64:1 NLT)
Think about it:
What produces anger or frustration?
Do you complain with God or with everyone around you?
What helps you to go from complaining to grateful?
