THOSE WHO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND TRIUMPH
Most people usually respond in three ways to failures or adverse situations in life: There are those who make excuses, those who accuse others, and those who decide to take responsibility.
Yesterday we talked about the first two, and today we will learn about those who take responsibility.
The responsibles.
They make a decision to do what is necessary in order to live their dreams.
The bible says that we were created according to God’s image.
God gave humanity one of the greatest gifts: Free will. The ability to choose is the quintessential characteristic that differentiates us from animals. But, in free will we can make bad choices, which means that this can also turn into the worst curse.
Those who choose take responsibility for their decisions and for the direction their lives take. They don’t blame others or make excuses. The bible says: For we are each responsible for our own conduct. (Galatians 6:5 NLT)
Instead of complaining about the dreams you haven’t achieved, take responsibility for what you haven’t done. Your good and bad choices have a lot to do with achieving your dreams.
I have met people who were given nothing in life, but who achieved far beyond their dreams. I have also met people who were given everything they needed and wanted on a silver platter and yet they wasted their lives.
You can’t control your circumstances. But you can control how you respond to these situations.
Think about it:
What bad decisions have you made in the past that prevented you from achieving your dreams?
What good decisions do you have to make to continue fighting for your dreams?
How do you think taking responsibility for your decisions helps you?
