When I am not aligned to God’s purpose

WHEN I AM NOT ALIGNED TO GOD’S PURPOSE

But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise,
and I will fulfill all my vows.
For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.” Jonah 2:9 NLT

When I deviate from God’s purpose for my life then it is easier to get in trouble and lose joy in living.
This happened to Jonah. He felt terrible when he deviated.

“I sank beneath the waves, and the waters closed over me. Seaweed wrapped itself around my head. 6 I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth, whose gates lock shut forever. But you, O Lord my God, snatched me from the jaws of death! Jonah 2:5-6 (NLT)

But, when I align myself to God ‘s purpose then God also responds to me.

«I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble,
and he answered me.I called to you from the land of the dead, and Lord, you heard me! (Jonah 2:2 NLT)

When I realign myself to God’s purpose Joy returns to my life.
When I decide to fulfill the promises I had made to God in order to fulfill his purpose, then, I get out of depression, I get out of the fish’s stomach and return to joy; just like it happened to Jonah.

But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise,
and I will fulfill all my vows.    For my salvation comes from the Lord alone. Then the Lord ordered the fish to spit Jonah out onto the beach.(Jonah 2:9-10 NLT)

Think about it:
Have you lost your joy or have you felt as if you were in the belly of a fish like Jonah?
Are you alienated or misaligned to God’s purpose?
What promises have you made to God that you need to keep?
