Eyes and ears

EYES AND EARS

“O my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to all the prayers made to you in this place.” (2 Chronicles 6:40 NLT)

Lord, as I read this passage, two prayers come to mind at this moment:

1. May your eyes open.

When the eyes are closed people are unaware of what is happening.
However, when the eyes are opened, this speaks to me that a person is alert and knows what is happening.

In that same way, I pray Lord Jesus, may your eyes be attentive to whatever I do in my life, so that you may always guide me and give me direction in what I must do.
May your eyes always be opened and observant of what I do, so that you can correct me when I deviate or make a mistake; that is how I will be able to return to the right way.
May your eyes always be open so that you may tell me which way to follow, so that I may fulfill your perfect will and live a life with spiritual, family, social and financial success.

2. May your ears be attentive.
Lord, I pray that your ears are never closed to hearing my prayer.
Let your ears be opened to the petitions of my heart, especially the ones that are according to your perfect will, those petitions that have nothing to do with my ego, my pride; but rather those with the desire to fulfill your dream, your macro-story of love in reconciling the world with you.

“Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (2 Chronicles 6:40 NLT)

Think about it:

Why is it important for you for God to have his eyes open before you?
In what area do you need guidance on behalf of God?
What prayers do you want God to listen to?
