With a willing mind

WITH A WILLING MIND

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. (1 Chronicles 28:9 NKJV)

This passage speaks to me about:
1. Always giving God first place in my life.As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, … 1 Chronicles 28:9
Whatever you put God first in will be blessed.
If I put God first in a business, then it will have His blessing. The same happens with marriage, studies, finances, ministry, with a dating relationship, etc.

2. Serve Him voluntarily and with a good attitude. “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind… 1 Chronicles 28:9

Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies(Deut. 28:47 NKJV)

3.It speaks to me about scrutinizing myself. … for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts.… (1 Chronicles 28:9 NKJV)
I can’t deceive God with my appearances, but it is possible to deceive myself because sometimes I don’t understand the depths of my heart (Jer. 17:9)
It is good to evaluate my motivations from time to time: Why do I do what I do? Why do I seek success so hard? Why am I a leader? What place does money have in me? What do I want millions for? How do I manage the influence and resources that God has entrusted to me?

4. I must desire a relationship with God..If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever(1 Chro. 28:9 NKJV)
I must cultivate a relationship with God. Nothing is imposed.

Think about it:

In what areas of your life have you put God first?
Do you serve God willingly or complainingly?
Why do you do what you do? Do you do things as for God or for men? Are you still looking for God or have you taken the first place in your life and left him?
