DIFFERENT LEVELS OF RELATIONAL BONDS
In our circle of friends, it’s normal to have more trust with some than with others.
We have friends with different levels of spiritual and emotional maturity.
Jesus felt the trust to take three of them to the mountain of transfiguration but not to the rest of the twelve.
Were they more spiritually mature? Was their character more stable?
To these three that had a strong bond with him, he allowed them to see another dimension of his being, a dimension of glory.
With these three (Peter, James, and John), he had strong bonds to the extent that he had the trust to present them to his other friends, in other words, Elijah and Moses.
Different levels of trust in bonds offer different levels of access.
We need bonds with different types of friends:
-Thoughtful.
-With extraordinary wisdom.
-Friends to laugh and cry with.
-Spiritual.
-Theologists.
-For fun and rest.
-Ministry friends.
-Entrepreneurial friends
Think about it:
With what kind of friends do you relate?
Why do you think it is important to bond with different types?
What types of friends do you need?
