THAT IS WHY I SPOKE IMPULSIVELY
We tend to speak impulsively when we suffer, feel lonely, and do not have relational bonds.
When we are hurt, we speak impulsively.
When we don’t feel understood, we speak impulsively.
We must have bonds with some people of trust with whom we can speak vulnerably.
We need to have trustworthy bonds with people, so we don’t feel alone or hurt.
But it’s important to develop bonds with people of trust who have the PERMISSION to ALLOW us to SEE when we speak impulsively.
“If my misery could be weighed and my troubles be put on scales, they would outweigh all the sands of the sea. That is why I spoke impulsively. Job 6:2-3 NLT
Bonds with trustworthy people help us to:
- More easily overcome our frustrations
- Correct us when we are having distorted thoughts.
- They help us to see when we are isolated or depressed.
Almost everyone has spoken impulsively under pressure, it is not the end of the world, but I need to be self-aware that it is easier to overcome everything when I have relational bonds with people we trust.
