Have realistic expectations – part 2

HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS – part 2
THE WORLD IS NOT PERFECT

No! You plot injustice in your hearts. You spread violence throughout the land. These wicked people are born sinners; … (Psalms 58:2-3 NLT)

Can we live successfully in a world where good and evil exist? Yes!

Three things we can do to enjoy life in the midst of good and evil:

1. Lower expectations of perfectionism.
Don’t live in denial. Accept the reality that the world is not perfect and that there is good and evil.

2.Rest in God.
You are not the manager of the world. God is!
You can’t control everyone in the world, but you can control your world and what you allow to enter into your world.
Don’t allow evil to enter.
Set boundaries!

3.Make sure that you are a part of the good.
There is good and evil, but make sure you are on the good team. The good team will always win! The light will always cast out the darkness! The good team is assured of the final result!

Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
(Psalms 58:11 NLT)

Think about it:

Has it been hard for you to admit that not everything is perfect?
How do you take care of your world so as not to let in evil?
Why do you think it’s important to set limits?
What do you do to counteract evil?
