HOW ARE BONDS FORMED?

For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross. (Ephesians 2:14-16 NLT)

Bonds are formed when we have a vision bigger than ourselves.
When we unite in Christ we are able to create deep bonds, because we stop seeing the superficial differences that human beings have and we unite in a vision that is bigger than ourselves.
When we are united by the vision of Christ, then there are things that fade into the background, such as:

Personal tastes.
clothing preferences.
Different tastes of food.
Cultural differences.
political leanings.

All of this becomes secondary when we see that Christ did not die on the cross for a select group of people, but for all different cultures.

In Christ there are bonds of peace:

“He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups”. (Ephes. 2:15 NLT)

In Christ there are bonds of reconciliation:

Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.(Ephes. 2:16 NLT)

Bonds are formed when we are united by a vision bigger than ourselves.

What has taken second place in your life in terms of relationships with other people since Christ came into your life?
What new and important links have you made because of the common vision that unites you?
How has the vision helped you create stronger bonds?
