We can re-open our heart? – Part 2

WE CAN RE-OPEN OUR HEART?
Part 2

I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!  (2 Corinthians 6:13 NLT)

We must learn to set boundaries to toxic people in our lives and separate them from our circle of influence, so they don’t affect us, but we also need to learn to open the doors of our heart in order to connect with the right people. We can’t live alone.

Three steps that will help us:

1. Heal all wounds of the past. It’s necessary to forgive and have a healthy heart so we can re-open our hearts to new people.

2. Let’s learn to set boundaries to toxic people.
Let’s learn to say no to toxic, but let’s also learn to say yes to healthy bonds.

3. Let’s take the risk of opening our hearts to someone again.
We can start by trying someone very confident, little by little, like when someone starts to get into a pool in the low area and little by little gains confidence until they swim deep.

Oh, dear Corinthian friends! We have spoken honestly with you, and our hearts are open to you. There is no lack of love on our part, but you have withheld your love from us.I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!
(2 Corinthians 6:11-13 NLT)

Think about it:

Is there a wound that you need to heal?
Which relationships do you have to say no to and put limits on and which ones do you need to let in?
Why do you think it’s important to take the risk of opening your heart again to someone you trust?
