Compassionate – Part 2

COMPASSIONATE
Part 2

There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. (James 2:13 NLT)

Yesterday we learned that we are losing the sensibility to feel compassion for those who are going through a difficult situation.
All the scenes that continuously come out in the news about pain, loss, tragedies, catastrophes, etc. wear down our ability to feel compassion for other people.

1. But, let’s remember that at some point in the past we also needed someone to extend to us mercy.
2. In the future, once again we will need mercy to be extended to us.

There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. (James 2:13 NLT)

Lord, give me the ability to always have a sensitive and compassionate heart.
So that regardless of the beatings that life has given me, I don’t lose the virtue of compassion.
Give me the grace to see people how you see them and to treat them with mercy, just as you have treated me. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Think about it:
Have you lost compassion for others?
Has God had compassion on you?
Why do you believe that it’s important to have compassion for everyone else?
What would help you to be more compassionate?
