Good and evil are a part of life – Part 2

GOOD AND EVIL ARE A PART OF LIFE
Part 2

LORD, hear my prayer! Listen to my plea! Don’t turn away from me in my time of distress. Bend down to listen and answer me quickly when I call to you. (Psalm 102:1-2 NLT)

It’s not wrong to complain when we feel overwhelmed, it is wrong when we stay there.
Once again, I noticed how the psalmist began by venting to God, speaking on how he feels; but at some point he begins to reflect and speak out the response.
He starts getting encouraged as he reflects the greatness of God, in deeds of the past when he has seen the hand of God move and in the assurance that God will answer his plea once again. He is so sure that God will answer, that he mentions how it must be recorded for the upcoming generations.

Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord. (Psalm 102:18 NLT)

1. Good and evil will always be part of life.
2. It’s okay to vent before God.
3. In the end, after venting, let’s pray trusting that God will answer.

LORD, hear my prayer! Listen to my plea! Don’t turn away from me in my time of distress. Bend down to listen and answer me quickly when I call to you. (Psalm 102:1-2 NLT)

Think about it:
Who have you vented to when you have felt overwhelmed?
In those moments of worry, in what way does it help to remember what God has previously done in your life?
Why do you think that prayer is important in those times of worry?
