TRUST IN THE MIDDLE OF AFFLICTION
I wish that when we came to Christ the afflictions would end.
I wish that by serving God through serving his church we would no longer suffer sadness.
I would like to think of a life free of trials.
But, the truth is that Jesus said that in this world there would always be afflictions, so Guillermo regain your composure and learn to live as Jesus lived while he walked in this world.
Jesus warns us about these difficult things in advance.
Jesus guarantees us that in Him we can have peace. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace … (John 16:33 NKJV)
Jesus gives us CONFIDENCE.
I TRUST in Jesus.
If He says it, I believe it.
If He says that he overcame the world, then I TRUST that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13)
If He conquered, I TRUST when He tells me that I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:37)
- Lord, I trust in you! You are the same as yesterday, today, and always. (Heb. 13:8)
- Lord, I trust your Word, your promises! Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. (Mat. 24:35)
- Lord, I trust your purpose for my life! Your plans are higher than my plans. (Isa. 55:8-9)
Think about it:
What affliction are you going through?
Can you maintain trust in God in the midst of affliction?
How does trusting in God, in his promises and his purpose for your life help you?
