Useless Alliances
“Woe to the rebellious children,” says the Lord, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin. Isaiah 30:1 (NKJV)
Often, in our eagerness to fulfill our own desires and goals, we make plans and alliances without considering if they align with God’s will. The Lord warns us that trusting in our own strength or in alliances that are not directed by Him will only lead us to make more mistakes. God wants us to trust in His perfect plans and in the people He places in our path to help us fulfill His purpose.
- Plans outside of God’s will:
When we make decisions without consulting God, we stray from His purpose. He has given us clear guidance through His Word and His Spirit. We must seek His direction before making any plans to ensure we are walking in accordance with His will. - Alliances not directed by God:
Not all alliances are beneficial for our lives. If we form relationships or associations that are not led by the Holy Spirit, we risk drifting away from God and increasing our problems. The right alliances are those that help us fulfill God’s purpose for our lives. - Trusting in God’s help, not human strength:
Like the people of Israel, sometimes we seek help in the wrong places. We trust in our own abilities or the strength of others, when in reality, we should be seeking God’s help. He is the one who has the power to guide us and give us victory. - Declaring relationships aligned with God:
Today is a good day to declare that our relationships and alliances will be aligned with God’s plan. We must reject any connection that takes us away from His will and ask Him to surround us with people who will help us move forward in His purpose for our lives.

Think about it:
- Have you made plans or alliances without consulting God’s will?
- How can you ensure that your relationships align with God’s values?
- What steps can you take today to seek God’s help instead of relying solely on your own strength?
