What Makes Me Think He Can Deliver – II

What Makes Me Think He Can Deliver – II

“Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”  Isaiah 36:20 (NKJV)

Many times, life challenges us with circumstances that seem impossible to overcome, but it is precisely in these moments that we must remember the power and faithfulness of God. If we observe what God has done in our lives and trust in His promises, we will see that He has always been present to deliver us. His faithfulness in the past and present is the guarantee that He will continue to do so in the future.

  1. Observing our present:
God has been faithful throughout the years. We have gone through difficult times like the 2008 economic crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic, but despite it all, we have always had what we needed: food, shelter, health, and more than enough to bless others. We also have a strong spiritual family, sincere friends, and good people around us. My wife and I have the privilege of serving as pastors, taking care of what God loves most: people.
“Indeed I have all and abound. I am full…” (Philippians 4:18, NKJV)
Today, I can say that I lack nothing, I am full, happy, and enjoy a solid and vibrant marriage.
  2. Remembering His promises:
God has promised to fulfill His purpose in our lives, and that will not change, no matter the difficulties we face. The enemy may try to discourage us, but God’s promises are stronger. He has plans of prosperity and a future for us. He has promised blessings for us and our families, and that is reason enough to trust that He will deliver us.
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me…” (Psalm 138:8, NKJV)
“For I know the thoughts I think towards you…” (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV)
God has been faithful in the past, He is faithful in the present, and He will continue to be faithful in the future, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
“Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”  Isaiah 36:20 (NKJV)

Think about it:

  1. What evidence of God’s faithfulness can you see in your present life?
  2. How can you hold onto God’s promises when facing difficult situations?
  3. What steps can you take today to remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever?
