I Called You

I Called You

“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house.” Isaiah 42:6-7 (NKJV)

God calls us with a clear and eternal purpose. His call is not just an invitation but a mission to impact the world. Through this Word, we are reminded of our identity in Christ and our responsibility as light and agents of freedom. Each of us has been chosen by God to reflect His love, justice, and transformative power in the lives of others.
Lessons from Our Calling:

  1. “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness.”
Our purpose is to be representatives of God’s righteousness, defending truth, showing mercy, and being a voice for the voiceless. It is a divine call that reflects God’s heart.
  2. “I will hold Your hand and keep You.”
We are not alone in this calling. God promises to guide and protect us, like a father caring for his child. His faithfulness is our support in every step we take.
  3. “I will give You as a covenant to the people.”
We are a living reminder of God’s faithfulness to His people. Our lives should testify to the covenant of love and grace He has with all who believe in Him.
  4. “As a light to the Gentiles.”
God’s call transcends borders. Our light, which comes from Christ, must shine on those in darkness, guiding them to truth and hope.
  5. “To open blind eyes.”
God calls us to help others see His love and purpose. This includes both physical and spiritual healing, bringing clarity to those who have lost their vision for life.
  6. “To bring out prisoners from the prison.”
As ambassadors of Christ, we carry a message of freedom. Whether it’s freeing people from guilt, sin, or oppressive situations, our mission is to be instruments of liberation in His name.

Think About It:

  • How are you manifesting God’s righteousness in your daily life?
  • Are you trusting that God holds your hand and protects you in your mission?
  • Identify a person or situation where you can be a light and an agent of freedom this week.
