GAINING TERRITORY
“And he became more and more powerful, because the Lord God Almighty was with him” (2 Samuel 5:10 NIV).
If you want to advance and progress in your projects, it is important for you to have the Lord’s support. The Bible says that David gained territory because he had God’s help.
“10 And he became more and more powerful, because the Lord God Almighty was with him… 12 Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel” (2 Samuel 5:10, 12 NIV).
You must place God first in the area you want Him to bless you in. If you want your spiritual life to be blessed, then place Him first in your spiritual life. Do you want Him to bless you finances or your marriage? Then, place Him first in your finances and family. It’s that simple.
We must remain in God if we want to receive His support. Jesus said that far from him we cannot achieve true success. Read this Bible passage:
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5 NLT).
Sometimes we deal with human shrewdness and see no results. Men and women fight and demand rights, yet they don’t find happiness. They lie and cheat, and still, they don’t achieve what they thought would bring them happiness. People become enslaved by materialism and they don’t obtain peace in their family.
The Bible lets you know that if the Lord is not in your situation, it’s better for you not to even try.
“Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good” (Psalm 127:1 NLT).
What project has caused frustration or confusion in your life? Are you using your own intelligence to succeed or do you have the Lord’s support? Ask God if there is a situation in which you’re being stubborn, and that it might not be His will for your life.
Think about it:
What do you need to do to gain territory in the area of your life you want to be blessed?
Is it God’s will for you to do what you’ve been doing in your own strength lately?
