You have a long way

YOU HAVE A LONG WAY

“The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you” (1 Kings 19:7 NIV).

Don’t complain nor seek to blame others, and don’t have a pity party. Wipe out all excuses, focus on God’s purpose for your life and be strong and courageous. You cannot change others, so do not depend on them. You cannot give up your own success because others want to be mediocre.

There are circumstances that you cannot modify. For example, you cannot change the unjust criminals nor the corrupt government in the world, you cannot control the stock market, you can’t manipulate the results of a negative diagnostic, you cannot force death to return your loved one because they passed away of old age.

You have no control over these things, but you can decide how you will respond to these situations. Therefore, do not complain, do not lament, but be strong because there are still great things God wants you to do.

The Bible says:

“The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you” (1 Kings 19:7 NIV).

There’s no need to get depressed, to hide or to drown yourself in self-pity. Get up, eat and drink from the presence and power of God because there’s a long way ahead of you. You still have achievements to reach. The race is not over yet, just look at what happened with Elijah.

“So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God” (1 Kings 19:8 NIV).

So, what should you eat and drink? Jesus said:

“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty” (John 6:25 NIV).

Jesus also said:

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14 NIV).  Keep drinking Jesus in, because there’s still a long way ahead of you.

Think about it:

What goals has God given you to accomplish this year?
Where on the way did you fall and now need to get back up, eat and drink?
