When you are thankful you remove pride from your life

WHEN YOU ARE THANKFUL YOU REMOVE PRIDE FROM YOUR LIFE

“But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me” (Hosea 13:6 NLT).

We human beings have the tendency to forget God when we are comfortable. When everything goes well, it is very easy to depend on our own abilities and put the things that have to do with Him aside. People say things like the following, “I am too busy”, “I am a very productive person and I am too busy to do those kinds of things”, or “I am a realistic person”.

If you want to accomplish the Lord’s assignment and purpose in your life, you will need to throw away your pride every day. Pride is the root of all sin. In fact, it was reason as to why Lucifer was thrown out of heaven into darkness. We cannot repeat the mistake of falling into pride like many others have done. We must constantly persevere to have a contrite and humble spirit before the Heavenly Father.

“Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18 NLT).

Thankfulness is the antidote against pride and apathy. Let’s take the time each day to remember the things that God has done with us and for us, that He has cared for us, that He has given us good friends, that we have a great spiritual family, that we have health, eyes, ears, hands and feet.

“I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me” (Hosea 13:5-6 NLT).

Think about it:

What is it that you are grateful for today?

What signs of pride have you seen in yourself lately? How can you remove it?
