Your decisions determine your success

YOUR DECISIONS DETERMINE YOUR SUCCESS

“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5 NLT).

Today I will be sharing a couple phrases that are found in the book, “Resolved” by Orrin Woodward. I want to start off by telling you that your success doesn’t depend on anyone else but you.

What thoughts have you allowed in your mind? You will become whatever you think. Your mind is powerful, if you can believe what God believes about you, you can do anything you put your mind to, because you have faith. What I am trying to say is that your bright future depends on you.

“When you recognize this, then you and only you become responsible and guilty of your own decisions. When you stop blaming others for the decisions you make, you have in your hands the secret toward success. When you allow others to choose your path to blame someone else when things go wrong, you are cheating and confusing no one else but yourself” (Lou Holtz).

“You work hard and you suffer, but you become a better person. If the prizes you’re looking for are found in worship and adulation from others, you are destined to disillusion… The internal rewards you earn with pain, sweat, and tears are the rewards that will stay with you forever” (Lou Holtz).

“Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years… Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the Lord, God gave him success” (2 Chronicles 26:3, 5 NLT).

It is time to take responsibility for your actions. Do not seek to blame others when you seem to work harder and harder at something and still don’t see the results you long to see. It is time to revise and adjust yourself. God has given you the tools that you need to be successful, all you need to do is make the necessary changes to reach the success you are expecting. You can do it!

“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5 NLT).

Think about it:

What does success mean to you?
What kind of decisions have you been making lately and where are they taking you?
