Don’t be afraid just believe

DON’T BE AFRAID JUST BELIEVE

“While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”  Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe” (Mark 5:35-36 NIV).

When we are waiting on God to reply to our prayers and we don’t get it, we can end up losing our faith. However, in this passage it seems as if there was no more hope for Jarius, yet God told him these beautiful words, “Don’t be afraid, just believe”.

The Lord Jesus is telling you the same words today, because he wants you to know that even if a diagnostic, a court decision or a problem in your marriage already exists, there is still hope. Do not be afraid, just believe in Him.

You might ask yourself, “How am I not going to lose faith if God doesn’t answer me? Why does God answer other people’s prayers, yet they don’t even serve Him as much as I do?

The rest of this story can clarify the answer you have been waiting for. Jarius was a leader in the synagogue, meaning he was a person who served God. When he saw Jesus, he bowed before him and asked him to go to his house to heal his daughter who was dying.

While they were on their way, a woman with a blood issue touched Jesus’s mantle and she was healed. When Jesus felt a miracle come out of him, he stopped and asked who had touched him.

Despite the crowds of people that were surrounding him, Jesus stopped until he found out who was the woman who had been healed because she touched him. This delayed their way to Jarius’s house. While they were in this scene, someone comes to tell Jarius that his daughter had just died and that there was no point in going to his house.

Can you imagine the feeling Jarius was experiencing? His daughter (that which he had been praying for) had died, thus, there was no hope left. He probably was thinking, if Jesus hadn’t stopped to ask who was the woman with the blood issue then they would have made it back to his house on time to save his daughter.

He probably asked himself the same thing you have been asking, “Why did the woman with the blood issue receive her miracle and I didn’t?”.

The Bible says that our Lord Jesus told Jarius to just believe. When they got to his house, Jesus affirmed that his daughter was not dead, but asleep. Jesus commanded the girl to get up, she got up and walked, and this is how Jarius’s request was answered.

If you believe God has delayed His answer to your prayers, today He is telling you not to be afraid, just to believe and have faith; because He will also answer you in an unimaginable way.

Think about it:

What have you given up on because God still hasn’t answered your prayers?
Are you willing to revive your prayers and continue to believe God will answer you in due time?
