THE SEED STAYS THE SAME
“Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” (Mark 4:3-8)
Many people receive the same advice, but some people apply it and others do not.
Many people hear the same Word of God, but they react in different ways and produce different fruit.
The one who sows the seed represents the person who teaches you the Bible and its advice, but the four lands represent the different individuals. Let us see:
1. Advice sown along the path and the birds came and ate it up.
Seeds that fall along the path represent those who hear the good news, but then Satan comes along and makes them forget everything they heard.
Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. Mark 4:15 NLT
2.- Advice from God that is sown on the rocks. There is no depth.
Seeds that fall upon rocks represent those who hear the message from the Kingdom of God and who quickly accept it with great joy; but because they did not understand very well, the joy only lasts for little bit. Soon, when they have problems or are mistreated because they are obedient to God, they forget the message.
Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. (Mark 4:16-17 NLT)
3.-Advice that is sown amongst the thorns. The worldly pleasures drown the fruit.
There are some people who are like the seeds who fell on the thorns. They hear the message, but they do not allow the message to change their lives. They only think about the things they need, how to gain profit and how to enjoy their life.
4. Advice sown on good soil. Teachable people who carry a lot of fruit and prosper in all they do.
Finally, the seeds that fall on good soil represent those who hear the message and accept it.
These people change their life and do what is right. They are like the seeds that produced crops with thirty, sixty and even one hundred seeds. (Mark 4:20 NLT)
Think about it:
- What land do we want to be?
- How much has our life changed in this campaign of transformation?
