Attentive eyes and ears

ATTENTIVE EYES AND EARS

“And the Lord said to me, “Son of man, take careful notice. Use your eyes and ears, and listen to everything I tell you about the regulations concerning the Lord’s Temple. Take careful note of the procedures for using the Temple’s entrances and exits” (Ezekiel 44:5 NLT).

Have you ever heard someone say, “so-and-so hears one things through one ear and it comes out the other ear”? People say this because they mean to say that so-and-so doesn’t pay attention.

Using our eyes and ears means to focus and pay extreme attention to what we are doing. It means to be a teachable person. No one can reach true success without first be willing to learn. Marriages wouldn’t be able to enjoy 75 years of happiness if they didn’t first pay attention to the instructions in God’s Word.

For instance, if you are a young marriage you may want to consider paying attention and listening to the lessons those more experienced marriages have to offer. If you do this you will save yourself from making unnecessary mistakes and having any misunderstandings in your own marriage.

The young person, the adult, the professional, the student, the pastor, the entrepreneur, every one of them must focus and use their eyes and ears to follow God’s instructions and reach success. They need to be open and ready to make the necessary changes and adjustments their lives and careers demand.

God has plans of success for your life, and He wants to take you from glory to glory. However, you must first have eyes and ears that are attentive to Him so that you can stay on track toward your purpose, which is true success for your life.

Think about it:

Are you sure you have your eyes and ears set on the Lord and open to learning? How do you know?
What instructions has God given you for your life?
