OVERCOME WORRY
There is a very common phenomenon in the human being and that is worry. We worry when we try to control the uncontrollable. When you can’t change your son, you are affected, when you can’t change the economy you are affected.
When you go through times of anxiety and you feel like you can’t go forward anymore, do not put your trust in the economy nor in the government nor in anything that can be taken from you; instead, put your trust in God who is always faithful.
We all worry when we try to control the uncontrollable, and this is why Jesus Christ shares a few truths regarding worry.
1. Worrying is unreasonable.
We are not going to change the circumstances by worrying, in fact worrying only multiplies our problems because worry causes ulcers, diabetes, and other sicknesses. Also, it causes tension and physical tiredness.
Remember, you cannot control what goes on around you, but you can control yourself through trusting in the Lord and casting your cares in His hands.
2. Worrying is anti-natural.
In the following verse, Jesus shows us how worrying is not something that is natural:
The birds represent nature. The Lord painted them with beautiful colors and even though they don’t know where they’re going to find food the next day, they do not worry because they know they will find it somehow, for God has always provided for them and He will continue to do it.
Just as God painted beautiful colors on the birds, today He wants to bring color to your life. Cast off your excessive worries and trust the Lord because in His Word He promises you He is your shepherd and that you will never lack (Psalm 23:1). Let God paint your life with bright colors that will bring relief to you by understanding that He will always take care of you.
Think about it:
What have you been worried about?
What effect has worry had in your life in general?
