FRIENDS

“Four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus” (Mark 2:3-4 NLT).

It is good to be friends who listen and are present during the difficult times of our loved ones, but we need to learn to be true friend who also know how to act in order to help our friends move toward success.

Today I want to share a few lessons that will help us become friends who help one another reach great things in life.

1. Teamwork.
A man alone wouldn’t have been able to lower another man on his mat through a hole in a roof. This shows us that when we work as a team we will easily be able to achieve greater things than if we were alone.

2. Unity.
This group of friends had the same goal in common. You cannot progress when there is divisiveness in a team, your marriage, or the Church. It is highly important to be around the right people with whom you have the same goal in common. Once you attain this unity, you will be able to meet bigger goals than you would have on your own.

3. Generosity.
These friends were willing to pay the price to repair the roof they had dug a hole through so that their friend would be healed. They didn’t worry about the cost, instead they did what was necessary to fix the roof and bless their friend.

4. Faith.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).

Maybe their friend didn’t have enough faith to be healed, but the faith of these four men caused a miracle in this sick man’s body. When there is more than two people agreeing in faith, God’s supernatural power is released to make the impossible, possible.

“Four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus” (Mark 2:3-4 NLT).

Think about it:

Are you being a good friend?
What qualities that were just mentioned do you need to begin to practice today?
