THE ROUTE OF SERVICE
There is nothing wrong with wanting to be first, the problem is doing wrong in order to get to the top. God has created us to be the best versions of ourselves through the route of service.
In the common world, often those who have influence dominate those who they lead. Supervisors dominate their workers; the wealthy treat the lower class contemptuously; politicians become prideful and they run over others with the power their position gives them.
However, there are others who understand that service is the true path toward success.
True leaders gain influence by serving their people. They reach the top of their leadership in a healthy way, they become entrepreneurs who are truly successful, they stand out because they have a humble attitude. These kinds of peopleknow their purpose and live to enrich others while they’re in this brief season called life.
There is nothing wrong with aspiring to be the best at work, your business, your classroom, or your ministry, as long as you do this through the route of service. Serve with the right motivations, then you will be promoted.
There are many tactics that appear to be advantageous, but the route of service is shorter and healthier.
Think about it:
Where do you want to get to? Why?
How can you serve someone today?
