KNOWING AND LEARNING IS NOT THE SAME
God will not teach you anything new until you obey and practice what He has already taught you.
God is not in the business of simply satisfying your curiosity. When He tells you something He expects that you take action. Once you practice what He has taught you, then you can take the next step.
See, God wants you to apply the truth that you have learned, and you have not learned something until you have put it to practice.
It is not enough to tell people you believe in the Bible. You must first do what the Bible teaches. If you do not do what the Bible teaches, then you really don’t believe in the Bible.
Have you Heard of people who say, “Oh I already know how to do this”, but they have never practiced it. There are plenty of teachers who teach on how business works, yet they have never had their own business.
There are others who study and graduate, but at the end they never practice what they learned and they forget what they studied.
In the same way, there are many believers who think they know it all, but it’s not until their faith is tested that they can practice what they believe. We cannot be quick to speak and boast in our knowledge, because knowledge that is not put to practice has no power.
The Bible teaches, “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?” (James 2:14 NLT). Let’s be wise and not neglect the opportunity God gives us every day to exercise our faith and apply what we know so that at the end we can say we truly know what it means to walk with God.
Think about it:
What knowledge do you need to begin to apply?
How can you exercise your faith today?
