Discover the hidden treasure

DISCOVER THE HIDDEN TREASURE

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field” (Matthew 13:44 NLT).

What would you do if you found a treasure hidden in a field? What decisions would you make to protect that treasure? Let me tell you that to discover the hidden treasure in the field God has given you, you will have to give your time and you will have to make sacrifices.

God has given us a field, which can be our family, marriage, work place, or school, and it is in that field that the treasure is hidden. God is calling us to dig out the hidden treasure in the field He has given us.

In connection to the previous biblical verse, the Word says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7 NKJV).

God has placed a true treasure inside of the most precious treasure, people. Many times, we don’t believe that the treasure exists, because we see people through our natural eyes and we see the negative things in them. However, if you’re going to be a treasure hunter you need to see people with God’s eyes.

Do you remember when someone saw something in you when no one else believed in you? That person saw God’s treasure in you, and they dug until they discovered the great potential in you. It wasn’t easy, but because that person understood that the true treasure is people, they were willing to do it because of God’s love.

Today, I invite you to dig up the field God has given you, that you watch over it, and that you don’t stop digging until you find the true treasure in your children, marriage, family, career, city, or ministry. Do not get tired of digging, because remember that God never got tired of digging up the treasure inside of you.

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field” (Matthew 13:44 NLT).

Think about it:
What field has God given you?
Where or who do you need to start digging up?
