Purpose+Discipline=Success and Happiness

PURPOSE + DISCIPLINE = SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS
“He who embraces too much, holds on to little”.

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!  All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.  So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 1 Corinthians 9:24-26 NLT

If you want to live in intense happiness…

1. You need a purpose.

So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 1 Corinthians 9:26 NLT

No one can be successful without first having a clear purpose.
There is a saying that goes, “He who embraces too much, holds on to little”.

People who go through each day, without first defining what they want to achieve, are only wasting their life.

Define yourself and what you want to achieve in life. You don’t have enough years to do it all, you only have enough time to do what God designed you to do.

Success to me is: To continuously fulfill God’s purpose in my life and for my life.

What is God’s purpose for your life? Define it, and then discipline yourself to be the best in that.

If you are going to be a pastor, make up your mind and discipline yourself to be the best pastor in the world. If you are going to be an entrepreneur, discipline yourself to become the best entrepreneur in the world.

2. You need discipline.

I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:27 NLT

You need to discipline your spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, relational, financial and vocational health.

You need to discipline and control your thoughts and emotions. There are people who lose their job or their good reputation that was built over the years, because they did not control their emotions in a moment of anger.
Maybe, you have met a person who had an incredible potential for a sport, but who never achieved success.

Think about it:

Are you defined in your purpose or have you been embracing too much? What can you do to define God’s purpose for your life?
In which areas do you need to discipline your life in order to be successful?
