No more excuses

NO MORE EXCUSES

It may be that, on occasion, we feel discouraged because of all that’s wrong in the world, overwhelmed with so much desire to do good and the impotence to change people and corrupt systems. That’s how Job felt in a moment of crisis in his life and this is what he expressed:

“Why wasn’t I born dead? Why didn’t I die as I came from the womb?
Why was I laid on my mother’s lap?  Why did she nurse me at her breasts?
Had I died at birth, I would now be at peace.  I would be asleep and at rest”. (Job 3:11-13 NLT).

Days will come (although I hope they aren’t frequent) in which we won’t have the desire to think or speak positively, but whether we feel or don’t feel, just remember that there is no use in complaining, regretting or making excuses.
Whether we have or don’t have strength, let’s make sure to not do the following 3 things and eventually we will feel better.

1. No more regrets.
When a plate has already been broken, it doesn’t get fixed by regretting it happened. Instead, pick up the shards of glass before someone steps on it barefoot.

2. No more complaints.

It’s useless. Complaints only affect our brain, they make us feel miserable and waste all our energy

3. No more excuses.
The brain distinguishes what truth is and what lies are. Just believe and it will adapt to what we repeat. At all costs, avoid phrases like “I just can’t because of so and so reason”, “ I’m just to old, I’m a woman, I’m too young, no one believes in me, no one loves me, I was abandoned or abused when I was little”, etc.

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences”.
(Proverbs 18:21 NLT)

The spirit of a man will sustain his “infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”. (Proverbs 18:14 KJV)

Think about it:

What past mistakes do you continue to regret that have prevented you from seeing the blessings of your present?
What are your most frequent complaints, and what could you do to change them for an attitude of gratitude?
What are your excuses for not daring to do bigger things in your life or fulfill your dreams?
Are the words you express usually  positive or negative?
