GROWTH CAN PRODUCE DISCONTENT
But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. (Acts 6:1 NLT)
When an organization grows rapidly, it can bring new challenges, especially if the growth is accelerated.
When a place expands, it produces benefits, but it also comes with new responsibilities. A home with only a married couple living in it does not have the same dynamic as a home with four children.
A marriage can be blessed with the expansion of a business, but if wisdom is not used, it can also produce stress and discontent in the couple who doesn’t have time for family anymore.
What’s important in these cases is to not focus on the discontent, but on solutions.
The apostles quickly developed a plan to be able to continue enjoying the growth.
1. They looked for suitable people who had the group’s, and church’s, best interests at heart. They needed to be full of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 6:3-4)
2.They looked for people who loved others. The objective was to care for the people.
3. In an organized way, they delegated tasks to people so that everyone could be well cared for.
4. They dedicated themselves to their calling, positioned themselves in their niche, maximized their gifts and let others shine in the department that cared for women. (Acts 6:4).
Result: Healthy relationships, care for the people, continual growth in the Church.

Think about it:
Is there discontent in your life due to many responsibilities? Could you delegate certain functions that aren’t necessary for you to do, whether it be in your home or ministry? Are you doing what makes you happy? Is there an order of priorities in your life?
